Moldova's Voxtel Revenue Up 39% on Year in 2006

CHISINAU, Feb 8 (Prime-Tass) -- The revenue of Moldova's leading mobile operator Voxtel rose 39% on the year to 1.3 billion lei in 2006, company spokespeople said during a news conference Thursday.

The company's subscriber base rose 36% in 2006 to 900,000 users, the spokespeople said, adding that investments amounted to U.S. $20 million in 2006.

The company launched its GSM network in 1998. The company?s main shareholder is France Telecom with a 61% stake.
