ESPN To Provide Mobile ESPN Content To Verizon Wireless

Walt Disney's ESPN has received a multi-year contract to provide its Mobile ESPN application and services to Verizon Wireless subscribers.

Financial and other contract terms weren't disclosed.

Verizon Wireless will include the ESPN services in its standard V CAST daily and monthly subscriptions at no extra charge, the companies said.

Basking Ridge, N.J.-based Verizon Wireless also said its forthcoming Verizon Wireless V CAST TV service will include ESPN Mobile TV, a new round-the-clock channel from ESPN with programming specifically for the mobile market.

Qualcomm unit MediaFLO USA, which will provide the V CAST TV service, said separately that it inked a deal with ESPN to use ESPN Mobile TV across its new mobile entertainment service.
