Deutsche Telekom Q4 2006 Preliminary Customer Numbers
Deutsche Telekom surprised the financial community by issuing some details of its fourth quarter results on a Sunday. As the table below shows, there wasn't too much wrong with the historic numbers, with only the UK being notably slow; rather, the reason for the sudden announcement was that management is no longer quite so positive about the financial outlook for 2007.
The company now faces increasing competition, especially in Germany, and has, as a consequence, decided to raise the level of expenditure on capital items. This in turn has had a knock on effect on profitability and hence the markets have been advised to expect EBITDA for 2007 to come in at around
