MegaFon Says User Base Hit 30 Mln in January

MOSCOW, Jan 24 (Prime-Tass) -- The subscriber base of Russia's third largest mobile operator MegaFon reached 30 million users this month, the company said in a press release Wednesday.

The company had about 22.8 million users in January 2006 and around 13.6 million users in January 2005, the company said.

In July-September 2006, MegaFon's average revenue per user (ARPU) amounted to U.S. $13.1 and minutes of usage (MoU) stood at 222 minutes, the company said, adding that additional services accounted for 13% of revenue.

MegaFon is the third largest mobile operator in Russia after Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) and VimpelCom. MegaFon's license portfolio covers all 86 Russian regions.
