Portugal Telecom May Sell Assets If Takeover Bid Fails

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Portugal Telecom is considering asset disposals, equity selldowns and other financial engineering to trim a projected EUR6 billion net debt if it is able to defeat a takeover offer from Sonaecom, a director at the country's dominant telecommunications company said Wednesday."
