Speedus: Trial Dates For Verizon, Alltel Cases Not Set"

Speedus Corp. said its two patent lawsuits against Verizon Wireless, a Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group joint venture, were transferred to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and trial dates have not yet been set.

Speedus, a New York facilities-based broadband and wireless high-speed Internet company, said its two patent suits against Alltel Corp. have been consolidated, and the trial also awaits a date.

Speedus' CellularVision Technology & Telecommunications LP unit filed patents suits in May against Verizon Wireless addressing technologies to transmit television to wireless users over cellular networks, the company said.

Speedus filed complaints against Alltel in the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida, claiming the Little Rock, Ark., communications company infringed two Speedus patents.
