UK Retailer Already Taking Reservations for the iPhone

The UK phone retailer, Carphone Warehouse (CPW) has already started collecting registrations from people who want to buy the Apple iPhone. The company is actually citing a launch date of December 2007, although Apple itself said that they expect to launch the handset in late 2007. If CPW has a genuine launch date, then the launch date claim could be a couple of months later than most people are expecting, or hoping.

It's possibly worth commenting that CPW lost the Vodafone account for selling new contract handsets, so either CPW is just being speculative about collecting names of iPhone fans - or they know something about who is going to be offering the handset in the UK. Namely, anyone but Vodafone.
