Argentine operator Telefónica de Argentina plans to invest 1.6bn pesos (US$525mn) in 2007, the company said in a statement.
Investment will be chiefly earmarked for continued expansion of the company's mobile and broadband infrastructure and to offer IPTV services.
"We expect to add new services that add value to the different connectivity services we offer to clients," company president Eduardo Caride said.
TAR currently has 500,000 broadband connections and expects to close next year with nearly 1 million.
In the mobile telephony segment, TAR plans to optimize the current network in order to be ready to offer 3G services. The goal of the company is to end 2007 with 13.5 million clients from the current base of 11 million.
This year the company invested 1bn pesos in both the fixed and mobile telephony segments."
