Ericsson Wins Austrian WCDMA/HSPA Contract

Ericsson has been selected by Austrian operator ONE as the sole supplier to expand and upgrade their WCDMA radio network with HSPA. Under the contract, Ericsson will deliver WCDMA radio access components and HSPA functionality to enhance ONE's mobile broadband capabilities.

The contract period runs for three years and rollout will start immediately.

In addition to expanding and upgrading ONE's WCDMA/HSPA network, Ericsson will also provide turnkey network deployment and integration as well as related support services.

Jorgen Bang-Jensen, Chief Executive Officer at ONE, says: "Ericsson's strong WCDMA/HSPA technology positions us for future growth. In the next two years we will offer our customers a nationwide coverage with mobile broadband"
