Telemundo and Cingular Wireless Sign Product Placement Deal

In a Hispanic television first, Telemundo, a producer of TV shows for Hispanics in the USA, and Cingular Wireless have struck a deal that will integrate the wireless provider into the storyline of the network's original Sunday night comedy, "Seguro y Urgente," starring Miguel Varoni. The deal also provides exclusive content from the sitcom to Cingular customers.

A Telemundo original comedy, "Seguro y Urgente," follows the adventures of a messenger who works for TDG, a small mail services company that charges him with the oddest home deliveries. In every half-hour episode, simple deliveries turn into chaos, putting Miguel in situations that he will only be able to get out of by using his unique charm, noble heart and, of course, his Cingular cell-phone to keep him connected to his friends who always come to the rescue.

The sitcom, shot in Miami, is based on the experiences of many U.S. Hispanics who work in the United States, including the way they use their cell phones as a social connector with family and friends. Hispanic consumers are among the heavier users of wireless services: they use more minutes, send more text messages, and download more ringtones and other data services than any other group."
