Movistar Opens Mega Showroom in Buenos Aires
Mobile operator Movistar Argentina has opened a 2,400 sq m building in the capital Buenos Aires to display its products and services, the company said in a statement.
The new facility, described by Movistar as an Experience Center, will allow people to observe and experiment with services such as mobile TV, mobile MSN and video calling.
The center also displays the entire line of Movistar's mobile devices and accessories.
Mobile telephone manufacturers such as Motorola, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung have exclusive stands in the center.
"This center will become an icon in the mobile telephony business," Movistar commercial director Ariel Pontón said.
Movistar Argentina, a unit of Spanish giant Telefónica, has nearly 10.5 million users.
The company plans to invest 753mn pesos (US$246mn) in 2007 compared to 500mn pesos this year.
