Moldovan Mobile Operators' Combined Revenue Up 40.2% in Jan-Sep

CHISINAU, Nov 27 (Prime-Tass) -- The combined revenue of Moldova's two mobile operators, Voxtel and Moldcell, rose 40.2% on the year to 1.34 billion lei in January-September, Moldova?s National Agency for Telecommunications and Information Regulation said Monday.

Of the total, Voxtel accounted for 69.7% of the revenue, while Moldcell accounted for the remaining 30.3%, the agency said.

The two operators received 58.4% of their total revenue from voice services, 32.5% from services to other operators and 5.7% from SMS services, the agency said.

Voxtel's monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) amounted to 143.1 lei in January-September, while Moldcell's ARPU was at 99.5 lei, the agency said.

In 2005, the combined revenue of Voxtel and Moldcell rose 52% on the year to 1.3 billion lei.
