KPN: Some Telfort GSM Frequencies Sold To T-Mobile

AMSTERDAM -(Dow Jones)- Dutch telecom firm Royal KPN said Tuesday it has sold some of its Telfort subsidiary's GSM mobile telephone frequencies to T-Mobile unit T-Mobile Netherlands from 1 Sept. 2007.

The Dutch company said in a statement that the sale involves 5MHz of spectrum in the 900MHz band. No financial details of the agreement were disclosed.

The deal will enable T-Mobile to use the 900MHz band in its own network.

KPN will no longer need this spectrum next year as a consequence of the integration of KPN and Telfort's GSM radio networks.

The transfer requires approval from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
