Deutsche Telekom: Two Candidates For T-Mobile Post-Source
FRANKFURT -(Dow Jones)- Deutsche Telekom executives Timotheus Hoettges und Robert Dotson are the frontrunners to take over the helm at the company's mobile phone unit T-Mobile, a person familiar with the situation told Dow Jones Newswires Tuesday.
The position is vacant following Rene Obermann being named chief executive of parent company Deutsche Telekom on Monday.
Hoettges is currently a board member at T-Mobile responsible for sales and service operations in Germany and other European operations. Dotson is currently member of the board of T-Mobile responsible for the division's U.S. business.
Deutsche Telekom's Chief Financial Officer Karl-Gerhard Eick isn't expected to be replaced, the person said. Supervisory board chairman Klaus Zumwinkel would appreciate it if the manager keeps his job, the person said.
The company's head of personnel Heinz Klinkhammer is on the way out, the person said. Dietmar Welslau is seen as having the best chances to taker over the job, the person said. Welslau is currently the head of personnel at the company's fixed-line business.
