Analyst Says 7.24 Mln Mobile Handsets Sold in Russia in Jul-Sep
MOSCOW, Nov 9 (Prime-Tass) -- Mobile handsets sales in Russia in July-September amounted to 7.24 million units in January-September, IDC Russia said in a report Thursday.
No comparisons were provided.
The five top-selling brands, Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, BenQ-Siemens and Sony Ericsson accounted for 89.5% of the total sales in the period, IDC Russia said. In particular, Nokia accounted for 25.4% of sales, Samsung for 20.7%, Motorola for 15.6%, BenQ-Siemens for 14.7% and Sony Ericsson for 13.2%.
Mobile handsets retailing between U.S. $200 and $300 accounted for almost 20% of the total sales in July-September, IDC Russia said, adding that the average price of a sold handset rose to $198.5 in July-September from $181.8 in April-June.
According to Russia?s largest mobile handset retailer Euroset, Russia's mobile handset sales fell 20% on the year to 13.51 million units in January-June. In 2005, mobile handset sales in Russia rose 11% on the year to 33.5 million units, the retailer said earlier.
