Half a Billion SMS Per Month in the UK

According to the UK Mobile Data Association, over 516 million SMS's were sent in the UK during the month of July. For comparison, last July, only 74 million SMS messages were sent, showing a sevenfold rise over the past year. The MDA is running a promotional campaign in the UK to generate awareness of SMS messaging."
