Dalsvyaz CEO Says May Sell Mobile Telecom Assets
MOSCOW, Oct 30 (Prime-Tass) -- Russian telecommunications operator Dalsvyaz may be interested in selling its mobile assets, the company's General Director Anton Alexeyev said, Kommersant business daily reported Monday.
"At the moment mobile assets generate profit, but we are watching what is more beneficial to us - to keep developing mobile services, or to calculate future cash flows, sell (the business) and decide where to spend the funds," Alexeyev said, as quoted by the daily.
Dalsvyaz provides mobile telecommunication services in the Kamchatka Region, controlling about 20% of the market, and the Magadan Region, controlling about 40% of the market, the daily reported. Dalsvyaz' subsidiary, Akos, operates in the Primorsky Region, where it controls about 10% of the regional market. In addition, one of Dalsvyaz' subsidiaries holds GSM mobile licenses for the Sakhalin and Chukotka regions.
Dalsvyaz provides telecom services in the Primorsky, Khabarovsk, Amur, Kamchatka, Magadan and Sakhalin regions and in the Jewish Autonomous District.
Russian national telecom holding Svyazinvest holds a 50.6% voting stake in Dalsvyaz, or 38.1% of its charter capital. Foreign investors hold more than 25% in the company.
