Russia's MegaFon to Launch Network in Irkutsk Region in Nov

IRKUTSK, Oct 18 (Prime-Tass) -- Mobicom-Khabarovsk, the subsidiary of Russia?s third largest mobile operator MegaFon in the Far East Federal District, plans in November to launch its network into commercial operations in the Irkutsk Region, a spokesperson with Mobicom-Khabarovsk told Prime-Tass Wednesday.

In mid-November, Mobicom-Khabarovsk plans to start signing up users in the regional capital, Irkutsk, and Angarsk and Bratsk cities, the spokesperson said.

At the moment mobile services in the region are provided by Russia?s largest mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), fourth largest operator Tele2, and Baikalvestcom, a subsidiary of telecommunications operator Sibirtelecom.

MegaFon operated in 82 out of 88 Russian regions as of September 30, servicing 28.070 million users in Russia, according to Advanced Communications & Media (AC&M).
