SMS in Hindi

Feedelix Wireless, a provider of SMS for non-Latin scripts says that it has become the first company ever to demonstrate the successful sending and receiving of live Hindi SMS message from India to users in the USA. Last Wednesday, a subscriber of India's AirTel sent the first Hindi SMS from a mobile phone in India to a user in San Diego, California. Within seconds, the reply message in Hindi (Devanagari) was sent using Feedelix's Hindi SMS software, HindiVayuSMS, from California to Mumbai completing the circle.

Hindi, the official language of India, has almost 500 million speakers around the world. Some estimates put Hindi as the second most spoken language in the world after Manadarin Chinese.
