Uzbek Court Rejects Tax Claim Vs Coscom Cell Operator
TASHKENT, Oct 2 (Prime-Tass) -- Uzbekistan's Tashkent Arbitration Court has rejected a US$24 million tax claim against Uzbekistan's third largest mobile operator Coscom, a spokesperson for the country's Supreme Arbitration Court told Prime-Tass Monday.
The tax authorities have one week to appeal the decision, the spokesperson added.
The claim was submitted in mid-September for violations of the tax code, including an allegation by the tax authorities that Coscom opened a foreign bank account without the permission of the country's central bank.
Coscom is 85%-controlled by US' MCT Corp., while the rest is owned by the company's management and other individuals.
