Moldovan Mobile Operators' Combined User Base Up 9.6% in Jan-Jun
MOSCOW, Sep 21 (Prime-Tass) -- The combined user base of Moldovan mobile operators rose 9.6% in January-June to 1.195 million subscribers as of July 1, Moldova?s National Agency for Telecommunications and Information Regulation said Thursday.
Mobile operator Voxtel accounted for 60.92% of the total subscriber base, while Moldcell accounted for the remaining 39.08%, the agency said.
The mobile services penetration rate increased to 35.2% as of July 1 from 32.2% as of January 1, the agency said.
The monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) increased 3% on the year in January-June to 120.7 lei, the agency said.
The two companies' revenue increased 40.4% on the year in January-June to 826.8 million lei, while the two companies' investments fell 25% on the year to 153.4 million lei, the agency said.
The combined mobile subscriber base in Moldova rose 38.5% in 2005 to 1.09 million people as of January 1, 2006, the agency said earlier.
