Huawei Wins African GSM Contract

Huawei says that it has been selected by Comium Mobile to build its GSM network in Cote d'Ivoire . The contract includes providing a full turnkey GSM, GPRS, 3G and Intelligent Network in Cote d'Ivoire.

The project adopts Huawei's innovative EnerG GSM solution and new generation GSM Dual Density BTS. Comium Mobile is committed to go commercial live by 1st quarter 2007.

Statistics from The Mobile World database notes that Cote d'Ivoire currently has a market penetration of 14.9% - with some 2.6 million mobile phone users."
