Milan Prosecutors Arrest Ex-Telecom Italia Executives - Source
MILAN (MF-Dow Jones)--Milan prosecutors have arrested 18 people, including some former Telecom Italia managers, in relation to an ongoing investigation into alleged illegal wire taps and the CIA's alleged abduction of a suspected Islamic terrorist, a person familiar with the matter told MF-Dow Jones Wednesday.
Telecom Italia has been under the spotlight since last year when Milan prosecutors launched investigations into illegal wire taps and discovered several Telecom Italia employees working in the company's security office, including head of security Giuliano Tavaroli, were involved.
Among the people arrested in Milan and Florence were several police and tax officers, the same person said.
Prosecutors are investigating alleged corruption of public officials, the same person added.
