A UK hospital has ordered a platform which will enable it to send SMS reminders to patients in an effort to reduce the number of patients who forget to attend their appointments. Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust note that as well as the financial impact, missed appointments can also lead to longer waiting times as appointments are rescheduled, and pressure on staff to squeeze extra patients into already busy clinics.
