Terrorists Blow Up 5 MegaFon Transmitters in Chechnya
GROZNY, Aug 7 (Prime-Tass) -- Terrorists blew up five transmitting stations of Russia?s third largest mobile operator MegaFon in Russia's constituent republic of Chechnya on August 6, law enforcement bodies said, ITAR-TASS reported Monday.
The transmitters were blown up in various locations of Chechnya. Nobody was injured, ITAR-TASS reported.
There were no reports that MegaFon's network was affected by the incident, ITAR-TASS reported.
This year, several of MegaFon's base stations have been blown up in the constituent republic of Ingushetia and Chechnya, two Russian regions in the North Caucasus with an unstable political situation.
MegaFon is currently the only mobile operator in Chechnya, with about 300,000 users.
