MegaFon User Base in Central Fed District Up to 2 Mln
MOSCOW, Aug 2 (Prime-Tass) -- The subscriber base of Mobicom-Centre, a subsidiary of Russia?s third largest mobile operator MegaFon operating mostly in the Central Federal District, rose 33% since January 1 to 2 million people as of Tuesday, Mobicom-Centre said in a press release Wednesday.
MegaFon launched its network in the district in December 2002.
Mobicom-Centre is 100%-owned by MegaFon. Mobicom-Centre provides services in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Ivanovo, Kaluga, Kostroma, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tambov, Tver, Tula, Vladimir, Voronezh and Yaroslavl regions, which are all part of the Central Federal District, except for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Mobicom-Centre does not operate in the capital, Moscow, and the Moscow Region, which are part of the district.
MegaFon had a total of 26.017 million users as of June 30, according to Advanced Communications & Media (AC&M).
