America Movil Sees 13 Million-14 Million Subscriber Adds In 2-H 2006

MEXICO CITY -(Dow Jones)- Mexican wireless company America Movil expects to add between 13 million and 14 million subscribers to its customer base in the second half of the year, Chief Executive Daniel Hajj said Thursday.

In a conference call with analysts, Hajj said that some countries where the company operates will start to see a slowdown in their fast rates of client expansion.

America Movil added 14.5 million subscribers in the first half of the year and had 107.8 million at the end of June.

For the second half, "13 million would be good and 14 million would be excellent," Hajj said.

He said the third quarter would likely be slower than the first and second quarters, but that he foresees a pickup in the fourth quarter.
