Telenor Confirms Has Submitted Bid For Serbian Operator
STOCKHOLM -(Dow Jones)- Norway's Telenor has bid for Serbian state-owned mobile operator Mobi63, but Swedish telecom operator TeliaSonera hasn't, a spokesmen for the two Scandinavian companies confirmed Wednesday.
The Serbian government, which owns Mobi63, had asked for a minimum of EUR800 million to be offered for the operator by interested parties.
"When reviewing the overall business case we couldn't find it attractive enough. We decided not to bid," said TeliaSonera spokesman Michael Kongstad.
Telenor, which is one of three qualified bidders, said it has submitted a bid but wouldn't disclose the price it has offered.
"We will see about that on Monday," said Telenor spokesman Kai Rosenberg.
The final auction will be held Monday July 31.
A Telekom Austria AG (TKA) spokeswoman also confirmed it has submitted a bid.
