Russian CDMA Operator Revenue Up 15% on Year

MOSCOW, July 25 (Prime-Tass) -- The consolidated revenue of Russian CDMA operator Sky Link rose 15% on the year to US$50.039 million in January-March, as calculated under US GAAP, the company said in a press release Tuesday.

No reasons behind the increase were provided.

The company is reporting financial results under U.S. GAAP for the first time.

In 2005, the consolidated revenue of Sky Link amounted to $184.583 million, the company said.

In January-June, the monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) of Sky Link amounted to $55, down 4.8% compared with the full 2005, the company said.

No other details were provided.

Sky Link had 300,000 users as of February 1. Sky Link was set up in July 2003 to promote the IMT-MC-450 standard, or CDMA2000 for the 450MHz frequency band, in Russia. Sky Link operates in 20 Russian regions and has a license that covers 65 of Russia?s 89 regions where 104 million people, or 72% of Russia?s total population, reside.
