Prestige-Internet Builds WiMAX Networks in 15 Cities
MOSCOW, June 20 (Prime-Tass) -- Russia's Prestige-Internet, operating under the Enforta brand, has completed the first stage of WiMAX technology development by creating WiMAX networks in 15 cities, the company said in a press release dated Monday.
The network was built in Barnaul, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Nizhny Tagil, Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Orendurg, Perm, Ryazan, Tyumen, Ufa, Vladivostok and Yekaterinburg.
By the end of 2007 the company plans to build the networks in 14 more cities.
People can subscriber to the company's basic tariff plan, including Internet access and telephony, for U.S. $49 monthly, Prestige-Internet said.
Prestige-Internet, founded in 2003, is 100% controlled by the Netherlands' Enforta BV. Sumitomo Corporation and BVCP jointly own 75% in Enforta BV, while the rest is owned by the company's founders and top managers.
