Apertio has announced that Tele2 has chosen to consolidate its core network on Apertio One software. Tele2 will consolidate its 3.5 million Swedish subscribers, held on eight separate Home Location Registers (HLR), onto a single logical Apertio One-HLR.
Tele2 will benefit from reduced cost and reduced complexity of provisioning and management of subscriber data in its networks as a result of this consolidation. The open database underpinning the Apertio One-HLR will also enable Tele2 to share HLR data with other network services, allowing greater flexibility in the development of new services, at a substantially lower cost and time-to-market.
"The implementation of a single logical HLR platform for our network will allow us to streamline our business operations and help reduce our future OPEX", said Bjorn Lundstrom, chief technology officer, Tele2. "Our decision to choose One-HLR follows a thorough evaluation of the market. Migrating to Apertio One will allow us to closely align our future technology investments with the growth of our company."
