Ukraine's Regulator Starts Accepting Bids for Wimax Frequencies

MOSCOW, June 19 (Prime-Tass) -- Ukraine's National Commission for Communications Regulation, or NKRS, has started accepting bids for frequencies used for the development of WiMAX wireless broadband technology, a spokesperson with the regulator told Prime-Tass Monday.

Bids for the 40 megahertz band in the frequency range between 5.47 megahertz and 5.67 megahertz will be accepted until July 15, the spokesperson said.

On June 9, the government approved a radio frequencies allocation plan, under which WiMAX technology may be introduced starting July 1.
