Vietnamese Operator Constructing New Tech Center

The Vietnam Telecom Services Company (GPC), owner of VinaPhone network says that it broke ground for its new telecom service technical center in My Dinh Commune, Tu Liem District, Hanoi last week. The project will comprise one 12-storey building and another 3-storey complex. GPC Center I will be occupying the buildings once the construction is completed.

In a huge promotion campaign, VinaPhone recently also awarded a valuable prize to its 4th million customer and others, marking an important milestone in its development process.

Also, VinaPhone recently managed to co-operate with Thanh Hoa P&T to extend its coverage to mountainous districts such as Thach Thanh, Cam Thuy, Ba Thuoc, Quan Hoa, Quan Sown, Nhu Thanh, Thuong Xuan and Lang Chanh. So far, VinaPhone has installed 12 BTSs in this province.

The Mobile World database notes that VinaPhone has just over 4 million customers - representing a market share of 37%. Vietnam, with a subscriber base of 10.7 million has a population penetration level of just under 13%."
