Motorola RAZR Continues To Top Handset Sales Figures

Wirefly, a USA based online cellphone retailer has released its list of the best-selling cell phones for Winter and Spring, calculated from January 1, 2006 through May 15, 2006. Both the silver and black RAZRs continued to dominate the list outselling all other cellular devices for over a year now.

"The popularity and dominance of the Motorola RAZR continues to dramatically outpace its few challengers, but it also appears the other manufacturers are in fast pursuit of Motorola's reign with several new cell phones that combine form, function and fashion," said Brian Westrick, President of Wirefly.

Jumping to tenth place on Wirefly's list is the recently released and immediately popular Pink RAZR from Motorola. The Pink RAZR was unveiled to coincide with Valentine's Day this year and marked the first major advertising campaign focused on color, instead of features or shapes. Other manufacturers also believe that color will play an integral role in cell phone marketing this year with Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Sanyo showcasing phone models in unique colors like granite grey, espresso, satin red, blue energy, champagne rose, amethyst purple and harvest taupe."
