Motorola Outstrips Samsung in Vietnam
Nokia still dominates with 50% of the Vietnamese market share, a drop of 2% over February 2006. While Samsung and Sony Ericsson lost 1% of the market share each, falling to 18% and 3% respectively, Motorola gained 4% to end at 22%. The company held only 10.85 of the market last year and only 1.8% in 2004, ranking sixth in Vietnam after Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Siemens, and LG.
Analysts expect that in the next several months, market shares for mobile firms will continue changing. GFK predicts that around 4 million mobile phones will sell in Vietnam this year, up 30-60% over to last year."
