Huawei Wins Thai Contract

Huawei says that it has been awarded a GSM network expansion contract by Thailand's True Move. According to the contract, Huawei will provide a softswitch network based on 3GPP R4 architecture to expand True Move's whole core network covering Bangkok, south, north and northeast of Thailand. The network will be based on an IP backbone with TMSC, GMSC and VMSC.

In 2003, Huawei was the first-to-market with the introduction of 3GPP R4 softswitch technology to enhance GSM performance globally. Huawei's Mobile Softswitch solutions are based on separating the control and bearer functions. Huawei has created a dual-homing IP solution that delivers a reliable and stable network, which helps operators to significantly reduce transmission costs.

Mr. Yang Shu, Vice President of Huawei Asia Pacific, commented: "Huawei is honored to become a partner to True Move, offering the most forward-looking network to enrich the communication experiences of consumers in Thailand. This is the start of a close partnership with True Move for the long term. As part of Huawei's vision of enriching people's life through communications, we are committed to bringing excellent services and innovative technologies to consumers in Thailand."
