MDs Prefer Mobiles to Landlines
Three out of four Managing Directors of medium-sized Swedish companies would prefer to use mobiles as the only phones for all their companies' employees, provided that their total telephone costs would not increase. This is shown in a survey carried out by Temo on behalf of Spring Mobil. The survey also showed that one in six companies with more than 50 employees believe they will switch to a fully-mobile solution within 1-2 years. For companies with 150-300 employees, the figure was 25%.
"The mobile office has been talked about for a long time, but now its happening on a broad front, including in large companies. Our burning ambition is that employees in Sweden will only have their mobiles to keep track of," says Ulf Groth, President of Spring Mobil.
Spring Mobil has been in business for a year, and now has 150 customers. Through installing small GSM networks on company premises, members of staff can telephone using their ordinary mobiles at the same price and with the same services as on land line telephones. Outside the office, the mobile functions as a normal mobile on the public network. This is possible because Spring Mobil holds one of Sweden's four GSM licences, and uses it in a unique way.
"We are totally focused on people using only their mobiles in the office, without having to give up any of the services they are used to, such as 'I am out to lunch' or 'I am in a meeting'", says Ulf Groth, President of Spring Mobil.
