Phone Employees Killed in Iraq

Six employees of the Iraqi mobile phone network, MTC Atheer were shot dead yesterday, at Nakhib, 300 km west of the Shiite holy city of Karbala, reported Major Mahdi Saleh of Karbala's crime department. No further details have been provided. A total to twelve people were killed yesterday in Iraq.

"We received reports that gunmen had killed six workers of the mobile company this morning," Saleh told Agence France-Presse.

Atheer Telecom is a mobile telephone network operator serving Iraq mobile telephone users starting from the south of Iraq and moving to cover the whole country."
