Mauritania To Offer New Mobile Licenses

We had this tender sent to us, and publish it for interested parties. Following its telecommunications sector liberalization policy, the Mauritanian Authority of Regulation has decided to launch a call for competition related to the allocation of one or several licenses, divided in four packs as follows:

  • Pack 1:
    • Establishment and operation of 2G and 2.5G mobile network services;
  • Pack 2:
    • Establishment and operation of a prepaid calling card platform for local, national and international calls;
    • Establishment and operation of an international traffic routing network and international telecommunications services open to the public;
  • Pack 3:
    • Establishment and operation of a local loop network open to the public and national telecommunications services open to the public;
    • Internet access;
  • Pack 4:
    • Establishment and operation of any other kind of telecommunications network open to the public, including 3G and 3.5 G networks, and offering to the public any other telecommunications services in addition to the ones covered by Pack 1 to 3.
