Huawei Expects Local 2006 Sales to Double
Chinese equipment manufacturer Huawei expects its Colombian revenues to double in 2006 to US$120mn, local daily Portafolio reported.
After six years in the region, Huawei's Colombia sales are topped only by its business in Brazil, company president Wang Tao was quoted as saying.
The 2006 prediction is in line with the company's over 100% growth in 2005, to US$63mn from US$26mn in 2004.
Among Huawei's Colombian clients are Comcel, Movistar, Telefónica Data, Telecom, ETB, EPM, Ola, Impsat and Comsat.
The company is currently reported to be carrying out tests on a 3G system with mobile operators Ola and Movistar, according to Portafolio.
