Siemens Communications Gets Order From Vodafone Czech Republic

FRANKFURT -(Dow Jones)- Siemens Communications, Monday said it received a contract to build a significant part of the 3G-radio access network for Vodafone Czech Republic.

The frame contract is to run for three years. It covers the construction of the UTRAN network and services such as network planning and optimization. The installation of the network will take place gradually.

Siemens Communications will deliver to Vodafone Republic all components necessary for the construction of a W-CDMA network. That includes hardware components such as W-CDMA base stations and controllers as well as infrastructure for power supply and antennas. Services will include planning and optimizing the network for the best possible performance.

Before the end of 2006 Vodafone Czech Republic will use its 3G network to offer customers a whole array of new services for multimedia mobile communications. These services will include video telephony, video transmission and fast mobile Internet access.
