Tecore Launches MVNO Platform

Tecore Wireless Systems has launched a new core network platform to serve the needs of the growing MVNO market. T-MVNO, Tecore's MVNO platform, provides a modular architecture that supports a variety of MVNO business models. Based on Tecore's SoftMSC platform, the solution leverages Tecore's multi-technology IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture, giving operators the latitude to design their business model around any wireless technology - GSM, CDMA, or converged WiFi/WiMAX services.

T-MVNO includes all core network components and application services that MVNOs need, including a fully functional MSC/Gateway-MSC, integrated HLR, SMSC, and SIP-based application servers. All components can migrate to full IMS-based architectures as the MVNO subscriber base and market evolve. The solution, which can support from a few thousand to over a million subscribers, allows for either a centralized integrated core network model or a distributed core networking model, providing scalability ideally suited for new market entrants in the MVNO arena.

The patented SoftMSC platform supports a full range of multimedia services which can be carried over GSM and CDMA, as well as WiFi and WiMAX. This technology-agnostic approach removes limits on mobile network operator partnering opportunities, thus maximizing the MVNO's market potential. The modular nature of T-MVNO allows the operator to use the SoftMSC platform as a standalone "one-box" solution, or in an architecture that provides localized or distributed processes on dedicated systems as required for growing subscriber bases and new services.

"The MVNO market requires modular, extremely reliable, and highly scalable core network services that can incrementally scale as new operators build their business. Tecore's enabling multi-technology support and highly modular networking components adapt well to this market," according to Jay Salkini, Tecore's president and CEO. "Our solution offers MVNOs the flexibility, modularity, and low entry costs that they need to scale their network as their business model grows."
