CDMA Coverage Improved in Alaska

Alaska Communications has announced the expansion of its CDMA network to include a site at the Alaska National Guard Headquarters in Anchorage. "We are very proud of our relationship with the military as we provide to them the best telecommunications services in the state," said Ken Sprain, senior vice president of network and IT at Alaska Communications Systems. "The placement of this CDMA site is further evidence of our commitment to the military and will improve our coverage on the state's military bases. The site will also serve the state's Emergency Operations Center, located on base, as well as the many residents and tourists traveling along the Glenn Highway."

The Glenn Highway is the only road which heads north out of the state's largest city of Anchorage.

More than 25,000 residential vehicles will pass that CDMA site during their daily commute."
