Gent To Quit As Vodafone Life President - Breaking Views

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Vodafone Group's Life President Chris Gent is to step down, Web site BreakingViews.com said Sunday.

It said infighting at the telecommunications company is damaging the company, as well as the three protagonists - Gent, Chief Executive Arun Sarin and Chairman Ian McLaurin.

Breaking Views added that Gent's decision to quit the honorary position is the right one, but said McLaurin should also resign and leave the way clear for John Bond - who has already been chosen to take over as chairman in four months time - to take up the post immediately.

Vodafone wasn't immediately available to comment on the report.
