Debifone Expands Regional Presence

Regional mobile payment solutions provider Debifone has expanded its presence in South America launching operations in Uruguay for its mobile payment service, the company said in a statement.

Uruguay is the company's first step in its regional expansion plan that involves launching operations in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Mexico, in addition to its current offices in Panama and Brazil.

Debifone uses electronic transaction technologies combined with voice and text messaging services that allow users to have a record of their operations. The service also uses different voice recognition technologies to guarantee the security of each transaction.

After investing nearly US$2mn, Debifone is now operating with all mobile companies in Uruguay.
