Qualcomm Names Andrew Gilbert President Of Europe Segment

SAN DIEGO -(Dow Jones)- Qualcomm has named Andrew Gilbert as president of Qualcomm Europe to replace Pertti Johansson.

In a press release Monday, the developer of wireless technologies said Johansson was named to a new position, president of Qualcomm Middle East and Africa.

Gilbert most-recently served as vice president and general manager of Flarion Europe. On Jan. 19, Qualcomm completed its acquisition of Flarion Technologies for about $600 million in stock and cash.

In premarket trading on Inet, the company's stock recently traded at $46.15 a share, up from Friday's close of $46.08.
