RESTON, Va. -(Dow Jones)- Sprint Nextel Corp. sued the parent of four online data brokers for allegedly using illegal and deceptive practices to obtain and sell wireless customer call detail records.
In a press release Friday, Sprint Nextel said it requested both temporary and permanent injunctions against First Source Information Specialists Inc. in the complaint filed in Florida.
Officials from First Source Information, Lauder Hill, Fla., weren't immediately available to comment on the allegations.
Sprint Nextel is the latest company to file a lawsuit against the owner of http://www.locatecell.com, http://www.celltolls.com, http://www.datafind.org and http://www.peoplesearchamerica.com.
T-Mobile International AG's T-Mobile USA Inc. unit, Verizon Wireless and others have lawsuits against the online data broker.
