PARIS -(Dow Jones)- Maroc Telecom, a unit of Vivendi Universal said Thursday its fourth-quarter revenue rose 17.5% on the growth of its mobile phone division.
In a statement sent through the stock exchange, the company, which operates in Morocco, said its fourth-quarter revenue rose to MAD5.26 billion from MAD4.48 billion, or to around EUR479 million from EUR408 million.
Maroc Telecom said revenue for the year rose 18% to MAD20.5 billion, or EUR1.87 billion.
The company attributed most of the increased revenue to the strong growth of its mobile division customer base, up 38% to 8.8 million at the end of 2005, while ADSL, with 242 000 lines installed in December last year, helped sustain the performance of the fixed-line division.
