Huawei Wins Indonesian 3G Contract

China's Huawei Technologies has won a WCDMA contract from Indonesia's mobile operator Natrindo Telepon Selular ("NTS"). Huawei is selected as NTS' preferred & sole vendor to construct NTS' unified 3G/2G softswitch core networks, intelligent service platforms and IP backbone networks in Indonesia. The whole nation, except Djakarta, will be covered by Huawei's Node B system.

"Huawei looks forward to a close and successful cooperation with NTS. Huawei's softswitch core network supports IP switch and transmission, simultaneous 2G & 3G access and IMS integration, thereby fully meets NTS' requirements to futher its business development." Mr. Wang continued.

Huawei says that as of January 2006, the company had won 18 WCDMA commercial contracts in the world."
