Improved SMS for Indian Operator

NMS Communications has announced that one of India's largest GSM operators has deployed a Short Messaging Service (SMS) centre based on technology from solutions provider TeleDNA and powered by NMS's media processing technology. India-based TeleDNA provides wireless value added services products such as SMS, multimedia messaging service, video mailbox and message gateway solutions for mobile operators and the enterprise. The company's SMS centre provides SMS over SS7 and SIGTRAN.

"Global mobile messaging is a huge industry, with revenues reaching more than US$55 billion in 2005," said Praveen N, chief executive of TeleDNA. "SMS is extremely popular in India, and it represents a solid way for operators in this region to increase ARPU. Our customers cannot afford to miss out on SMS revenue opportunities. By integrating NMS's media processing technology, we are able to quickly and easily bring these services to market."
